This is a great time of the year to come out and enjoy the trails at San Felasco, mild temperatures and great trail conditions is the forecast for March… In addition to great trail conditions wildlife sightings have increased in the past few weeks, sightings of numerous hawks, falcons, bobcats and deer have been reported to the Rangers.

The 9th annual Hand-Launched Glider festival and competition was held in February and had record attendance. Competitors from all over the country were at San Felasco showing off their skills, it was a great time!

Park staff work around the clock to try and identify the optimal times and conditions to conduct prescribed fire in the areas of the park that require fire for restoration and maintenance. As a result you might show up to the park to find limited access to portions of the trails. Please help us keep you safe by staying out of areas where prescribed fire is being conducted. Information on locations and trails closed due to prescribed fire will be posted at the trailhead kiosks during prescribed fire activities.
